Observations from Rwanda: June 2, 2024

We have lived for the past four months back in Nebraska, very much missing Rwanda and the people of the Rwanda Institute for Conservation Agriculture (RICA). I was asked to speak at a conference in Kigali in late May, which provided a great opportunity to return to Rwanda. We were back for just one week, which made for a very quick visit, and unfortunately short time back on campus. I was able to visit Umusambi Village, a wetland east of Kigali that is a restoration area for endangered Grey-Crowned Cranes, and the Nyandungu Urban Wetland Eco-Park, on the eastern edge of Kigali, to collect some bird photos. We spent one day on the RICA campus. The following photos are part of what we saw during our week in Rwanda.
